Happy Holidays!
We will be closed the week of Christmas to give our staff a well deserved break and time with their families, therefore we will not be shipping any orders. We will ship on the 30th to all orders West of the Mississippi and then resume normal shipping the week of the 6th.

Gluten Free Halloween

Today is Halloween which typically means some serious sugar highs followed by some crashin’ and burnin’ when it comes to blood sugar levels. There just ain’t no healthy way to spin this holiday, even if you go gluten-free. Rather than giving you a list of healthy alternatives for Halloween, I’m just going to share some gluten-free options for enjoying the holiday and then we can all check back after we’ve recovered from our sugar headaches.

Of course, you can always make a healthy choice such as having some veggies and homemade hummus, toasting and spicing pumpkin seeds, or skipping the candy altogether. But there are also some simple gluten-free treats you can make at home including caramel apples, homemade gummy candies and caramel popcorn.

The great news is that if you do want to indulge, some of your childhood candy favorites are gluten-free so you can partake along with the rest of the trick-or-treating world. The entire line of Tootsie (TM) products is gluten-free, except for the Andes Cookies, as are perennial favorites, candy corn, smarties (at least in the US) and, thankfully, York Peppermint Patties. Look for the list of gluten-free candies from Celiac Central just in case you fancy something I haven’t mentioned.

Remember, it’s just one day, so choose your favorite gluten-free treat and enjoy…at least a little!
