Organic Skin Care
Do you eat organic food? How about organic cleaning products? Do you try to buy organic coffee or clothing? If you make an effort to keep the products you consume organic, you should consider making the switch to organic skincare if you haven’t already. Here are a few reasons why:
Clean Inside and Out
Did you know your skin is your largest organ? What you put on your skin is eventually absorbed into your body; so if you wouldn’t be comfortable eating the ingredients in your skin care, should you really be putting it on your skin? Organic skincare products are to your outside what organic foods are to your inside.
The Grass is Greener
Just like with other organic products, organic skincare products are better for the environment. From pesticide- and cruelty-free production methods to micro-bead free runoff that won’t harm the oceans to recyclable or biodegradable packaging, you can do your part to make the world a better place by buying organic.
Get Regulated
Cosmetic companies have almost completely free reign over the chemical formulas of their products. The regulations put in place on cosmetics were established in 1938, and are even looser than those of the FDA. They don’t know (or, oftentimes, care) what harmful effects the chemicals could be having on consumers — so why risk it?
Double Duty
How about some non-scary reasons to switch to organic skin care. Many organic options make an effort for their products to not only not harm you, but to help you! The formulas of many organic skincare products will be boosted with vitamins and minerals like vitamins a and e for beautiful, glowing skin and a healthier you.
Bang for your Buck
Many people assume organic products are more expensive than other options. If you use super cheap drugstore products, that may be true — but most name-brand cosmetics are at least as expensive as their organic alternatives. Plus, take it from a drugstore brand convert, the organic alternatives last longer, work better, and end up saving you money in the long run.
So what have you got to lose? Go organic!!
